Troubled MC Charles Hamilton has continued his pattern of erratic behavior by allegedly assaulting a police officer in Ohio last week.
According to his case information, which hit the 'net yesterday, Hamilton was arrested on Friday, December 10, in Cleveland, Ohio, for assault, after he reportedly caused a disturbance at a number of bars. When police attempted to subdue him, the rapper apparently struck an officer in the face.
His deposition hearing occurred Thursday, December 16, with bail set at $25,000, but reports are conflicting as to whether he is still in police custody.
While it is not yet clear what provoked Hamilton's behavior, his arrest is the latest inexplicable, self-destructive incident in an increasingly bizarre career, which includes the 'Brooklyn Girls' performer getting punched in the face on camera by his girlfriend, checking himself into a mental institution and angering J. Dilla's family by alleging a fictitious relationship with the late producer.

It is being reported that The Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin is battling Pancreatic Cancer. Not much has been said from the Franklin camp or Franklin herself regarding this news.
Here's what Black America Web had to say:
Singer Aretha Franklin has not spoken much about the illness that has caused her to cancel all concert dates and undergo surgery recently, but, according to a CBS/AP breaking news report, the Queen of Soul is battling pancreatic cancer.
A source familiar with the situation told The Detroit News about Franklin's condition on Wednesday.
In addition, Detroit's Fox 2 news has reported that Franklin has cancer, attributing the information to a relative.
Despite these reports, Franklin and her publicist are keeping quiet, neither confirming nor denying that the songstress has the illness.
A recent AP report says that Franklin is recovering well from a recent surgery.
Reverend Jesse Jackson, who says he has visited Franklin four or five times recently, says her spirits "are high and her faith is strong."

Dear Kanye,
I have early recollections of Damon Dash calling me and forcing me to put you on Def Poetry Jam. I knew your record, "Through The Wire," but I didn't know much more. When you took the stage on Def Poetry Jam that night, and spit those genuine, heartfelt words, I witnessed your specialness that Damon had emphatically told me about.
From that moment on, you became a poet who has inspired the poets. I have proudly watched your career since then, and in case someone has missed the obvious, you are making a historical impact on music. Your life story took a tough turn with the passing of your mother. Although we grieved with you, we never really knew how much pain you were in. We witnessed your moment at the MTV Music Awards and many of us dismissed it as, "oh that is just Kanye being Kanye." The hard part of all of this, is that we have all had moments in our lives that have been challenging, painful and hard to overcome, however most of us just hide our emotions and never deal with that inner-struggle that we face on a daily basis. As an artist, Kanye, you have always looked inside for your inspiration...always exuding emotions that are in us, but that we never expose. That is what artistry is about...to look inside for what is unique. With your journey towards a higher level of consciousness, a journey that we all are on, you have shown through your art a commitment to greatness.
The thirty minute film you most recently made was beyond brilliant. Brilliance is not a word that can even begin to describe your ability to paint vibrant, vivacious, colorful yet muted paintings of poetry, music, costume, art, design and most important, passion. The passion you put into your new album is why I stayed up all those nights in the early 80's trying to get DJs and radio stations to play our records. I knew this day would come. Actually, maybe I didn't know, but I really, really hoped it would. I didn't work this hard when I was your age to watch the culture go the wrong way. And you, my friend, just took us to another level. I am simply in awe.
With this power, as you know, comes great responsibility. I am saying nothing you haven't heard before. When you spoke about President Bush during the Katrina telethon, it was not the particulars of your words that mattered, it was the essence of a feeling of the insensitivity towards our communities that many of us have felt for far too long. It was the image of the President, our President, the President of the United States Of America, peering out the window of an airplane, as the people on the ground were drowning, that hurt us the most. For centuries, our people have relentlessly tread water as hard as they could to stay afloat, and here we were, literally drowning, and it felt like the President was insensitive. There is no need to apologize, Kanye. You spoke from your heart and that is all we will ever ask from you. Don't be afraid of the press, as your art is your blueprint, thanks to Jay-Z, your big brother, we will always carry our destiny in our own hands. You are are an artist whose art is masterful. You are a servant to this world who no matter how hard it gets, keeps on giving. Giving gifts that inspire us, challenge us and motivate us to be better family and friends.
Keep on, Kanye. Keep on. We love you. We cherish you. And we will always have your back.

After a back-and-forth debate as to whether they were actually divorcing over the last 24 hours, Eva Longoria has officially filed for divorce from Tony Parker.
Longoria, who has been married to Parker since July of 2007, filed the papers in Los Angeles Superior court on Wednesday, People is reporting. Just a day earlier, TMZ reported that Parker was the one who filed for divorce in Texas, but both Parker and Longoria shot down the reports.
A rep for the couple told Celebuzz on Tuesday that the divorce reports were "100% false." When contacted by Celebuzz again on Wednesday to clarify the divorce report, the reps said they "are not commenting at this time."
Various publications are reporting that Parker may have been carrying on an extramarital affair, which led to the whirlwind of divorce rumors. Us Weekly reports that Parker had been carrying on a relationship with "a mutual female friend for nearly a year."
Longoria and Parker, 35 and 27 respectively, tied the knot in a dream wedding in 2007 at a castle in France -- Parker's native country. In 2009, infidelity rumors began to surface claiming that Parker had cheated. The couple carried on, making many public appearances, including recently at the 2010 Emmy Awards
**The Uptown Diva says... I was wondering if this relationship was going to work with such a major age difference. More details have emerged about what led to singer/songwriter Bruno Mars' arrest early Sunday morning in Las Vegas on drug-possession charges.
According to a copy of the arrest document provided by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the "Just the Way You Are" singer was arrested around 1:50 a.m. at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino — where he had performed earlier in the night — for felony possession of 2.6 grams of a "white powdery substance" that tested positive as cocaine.
Mars (born Peter Gene Hernandez), 23, was taken in after Las Vegas police received a narcotics call from someone at the Hard Rock. According to the report, a bathroom attendant approached a security officer at the facility to say that there was a man in a bathroom stall who might be using drugs, telling the guard that a male in the bathroom was "taking a really long time."
The attendant said he observed the suspect in a striped shirt with a "baggy of white powder substance." The attendant and the security guard approached the suspect as he exited the stall, and the guard ordered Mars to hand over whatever narcotics he had on him. "This is when Hernandez, with his left hand, pulled out a white powder substance, which was consistent with cocaine, from his left-front jeans pocket."
When the guard asked Mars if he knew why he was being detained, the singer reportedly said, "Can I speak to you honestly, sir?" and then said he "did a foolish thing and has never used drugs before."
Mars was arrested when the substance tested positive for cocaine, and he was then transported to the Clark County Detention Center, where he was booked on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance.

Prosecutors on Tuesday (September 7) dropper all but one charge against Foxy Brown, providing the first legal victory for the rapperin some time.
According to MyFoxDC.com, the news ensures Foxy will get no jail time for allegedly violating a court order requiring her to stay away from a neighbor.
"I always knew I was innocent. And this is all about jealousy," said Brown outside of the court room.
"The DA failed to indict her on all felony counts and three misdemeanors," explained Brown's lawyer Salvatore Strazzullo. "They're going after the big fish."
The sole remaining charge is criminal contempt. If convicted, Foxy faces community service.

A phone meeting between Kanye West and former Death Row Records CEO Marion "Suge" Knight ended in a stalemate and produced no results involving Knight's $1 million dollar lawsuit against the Chicago rapper.
The Associated Press reports that the latest meeting took place August 26th in Miami, with Knight present and West attending by telephone.
According Knight's attorney Marc Brumer, the two sides could not reach an agreement over Knight's allegations that West is responsible for injuries he received after he was shot at VMA party West hosted at The Shore Club, in 2005.
In addition to being shot in the leg during the star-studded party, Knight claims he lost a diamond earring that was valued at $135,000.
Knight's lawsuit claims West is responsible for his injuries because there was allegedly not enough security at the event.
According to Brumer, the case will most likely go to trial.
This is the second attempt to reach a settlement over the dispute. The pair met in a lawyer's office in New York in June, but an agreement could not be reached.

Kanye West clearly spent his time out of the spotlight doing more than just contemplating his future.
In fact, he probably spent most of it recording music, since he announced via Twitter (of course) on Sunday that he plans to release a new track every week between now and the holidays. "I know y'all need the music so I'm dropping 1 new song every weekend until Xmas," he wrote. "It may be my song, it may be a new Jay song, etc."
Yeezy said he's calling his new music express "G.O.O.D. Fridays" because "y'all know every Friday y'all gone have a new joint from our family. We look at the game completely different now ... It's about the fans. No more holding back. That's why I dropped 'See Me Now' ... it wasn't about me, it was about the Summer the BBQs etc."
So far, fan reaction to "Now," which features Beyoncé and Charlie Wilson, has been mixed. Some have likened the sound to that of West's debut, College Dropout, and others have said it needs a harder beat and feared that 'Ye was overshadowed by the power vocals from his big sis, Beyoncé.
In addition to the much-discussed Justin Bieber/ Raekwon remix he's just finished, West also dropped the Jay-Z/ Swizz Beatz remix of his upcoming album's first single, "Power," last Friday, which seems to have marked the official kickoff of his G.O.O.D. Fridays initiative. That song also had a mix of supporters and detractors, who weighed in on the strength of the beats and verses on MTV's Rapfix blog.
Kanye's clearly been burning it, saying he's been staying up until 5 a.m. every night working on a slew of new tunes, including songs for Clipse member Pusha T's solo album, Raekwon, Mos Def, Swizz Beatz and Pharrell. "Swizz looked at me the other night and said, 'Man are you getting sleep?' And I told him, 'I can't sleep ... my people need this new music,' " he tweeted.
He also mentioned on Sunday that he's working on a movie based on his album. Monday morning (August 23) he offered the tantalizingly vague update "working on the movie ... unicorns and RZA beats yo." A spokesperson for the rapper could not be reached at press time for more information on the movie or confirmation on the G.O.O.D. Fridays release plan.
West will perform at this year's MTV Video Music Awards, which air live September 12 at 9 p.m. The appearance marks his VMA return after a notorious onstage dustup with Taylor Swift, but it appears the rapper is taking the incident in stride. West closes "See Me Now" with the ad lib, "Uncle Charlie, by the way. And I'mma let you finish, but I got Beyoncé on the track." The rapper will be joined at the VMAs by fellow performers Justin Bieber, Drake, B.o.B and Florence and the Machine, as well as in-house DJ Deadmau5 and host Chelsea Handler.

Wyclef Jean's bid to become the president of Haiti officially ends Tuesday, as Haiti's electoral council will disqualify him and deny him an appeal of their ruling.
Jean was originally disqualified based on a residency requirement; he left Haiti with his family at the age of nine. After initially accepting the ruling, Jean backtracked.
"After careful consideration and much soul-searching, I have made the decision to contest Haiti's board of election's pronouncement stating that I am ineligible to run for the presidency of the country," Jean said via written statement.
Samuel Pierre, who represents the legal department of Haiti's election council explained that rulings are definitive and can't be denied.
"Therefore there is absolutely no possibility for Wyclef Jean to be added to the list of candidates approved to run in the next presidential elections," Pierre told Reuters. "So it's over."
While not giving a specific reason, election officials did say Jean failed to meet the requirement of maintaining five consecutive years of residency in Haiti prior to running.
"I have spent half my life in Haiti going back and forth," Jean responded, in an interview with MSNBC on Tuesday. "The electoral council is very corrupted."

*The Uptown Diva says...Wow! What a disappointment. I was so anxious for Wyclef to get his chance to turn Haiti around. sensation J. Cole is not letting his growing popularity rush the completion of his debut album for Jay-Z’s Roc Nation.
In a recent interview with NY Daily News, the Fayetteville, NC native explained that he hasn’t released the title of his album, correcting earlier erroneous reports that he had named the project Cole World.
“I still haven’t brought out the title for the album because I want to bring it out in my own way,” he verified. “But we still got time before the album comes out. It should be no later than December.”
J. Cole had spent the majority of this year working to have the LP out by October 26.
Unlike most rap debuts, he’s hopeful to keep the guest appearances limited to just his mentor Jay-Z.
Cole also alluded that the pushback’s reason is due to his focus on putting out a debut album that will have legs into the next decade like his inspirations Nas (Illmatic) and Jay-Z (Reasonable Doubt).
“It seems like every time I get in the studio the album changes a little bit and gets bigger with each song I do,” Cole disclosed. “The importance is that the music sounds special and will be something that’s around in the next 10 years.”
J. Cole’s debut will be the first album outside of Jay-Z for Roc Nation.

rapper Chamillionaire recently spoke at the Social Currency CrunchUp at California's Stanford University.
In a technology setting, the Houston veteran expounded on his existing fan-base, created through online services like Shoutcast.com, prior to his signing with Universal Records. By way of his base, Cham said that he has an extremely artist-friendly contract dating back to 2004 or 2005. "I have a profits-sharing deal with [Universal Records]. Most artists don't [have such a deal], most artists make pennies on the dollar. I don't make that. I make what the label makes," he revealed, before clarifying that he has 50/50 share in net profits.
The former partner of Paul Wall revealed that through his website Chamillionaire.com, and iTunes-topping performance of "Ridin' Dirty," he was able to secure this venture. "If I'm spending money, I want my money back just like [Universal does] if they're spending money. At the end of the day, I make what they make. That's not necessarily normal for an artist, but when I came into a major label, I had leverage." The rapper was asked if given the change of climate since his 2005 success would make him do things differently in hindsight. "To say that I would go back [and not sign with a major label], I can't say that...I have made millions and millions of dollars with Universal [and their] corporate structure," said Chamillionaire, who remains a Universal Republic artist, alongside Lil Jon and Distant Relatives.
Chamillionaire did speak candidly about the contract structure at the labels. "Because the industry's doing so bad right now, I think most contracts are designed for artists to fail," he said. Based on his generous contract, the rapper who says that he'recouped his Sound of Revenge and Ultimate Victory releases, admitted he checks Universal's accounting, "I audit them."
Almost three years removed from a proper release, Chamillionaire also stated that he's watched his label change for the worse. "Corporations are struggling. And for somebody like me, [Universal as a major label] just doesn't seem that major anymore," he said. "They should have been more aware of what's happening. That's why I come to tech conferences, so I can see what's next. They spend their money [on sending people] to the clubs right now, and I think they should be here." The rapper said he watched entire departments at labels dwindle to staffs of five, losing personnel that had a lot to do with his own success.

The Uptown Diva says... All I'm sayin is I wish Chamillionaire the best in everything. When I first got into the game - he was one of my priority artists. What a humble and talented individual. expected reunion with former NWA rappers Ice Cube and Dr. Dre has fallen through.
Ice Cube is wrapping up work on I Am The West, his upcoming album, but he hasn't been able to get in contact with Dr. Dre.
For that, he's said he'll finish it without his former bandmate.
"Many asked about Dr. Dre working on my album. Negative, Dre has been M.I.A. for a few months now. I asked Snoop has he heard from him and he said, no. I can’t wait," Ice Cube said on his blog. "I gotta turn my s**t in by Aug. 20th to make street date…Sept 28th. I’ll keep you posted if anythang new develops."
The rap legend said he is almost finished the album and expects it in stores in September.
"I’m almost done with my record, I Am The West. I’ve been mixing songs and dealing with paperwork all week and I’m down to my last 4 songs to mix. It’s bangin,' he explained. "I think we’ll end up wit about 15 songs when it’s all said and done and I’m real happy wit it."
Earlier this year, there was controversy that perhaps there was beef between the two artists stemming from an Ice Cube song called "Drink The Kool Aid."
The song lyrics say, "I ain't the doctor / This ain't the patient / This ain't that ni**a always on vacation / This ain't no white boy's rehabilitation..."
Cube denied that he was dissing Dre and the two opted to work together on both Detox and I Am The West.
"He played me some tracks set for the up and coming Detox record and we talked about me jumping on board the project," Cube said. "Of course I talked about him doing s**t on my record and he said he'd bless the album."
***The Uptown Diva says.... Dang! I soooooo wanted to hear a collaborative effort from these guys for a long time. I'm just going to pray that Dre and Cube work out their differences and make that music that we all know will rock the house! C'mon guys! Whaddup with that?
Compton, California rap star Game took offense to Miami rapper Rick Ross' song "B.M.F. (Blowin Money Fast)" in the latest issue of Complex Magazine.
In the interview, Game seems to take offense to Rick Ross' glamorization of Black Mafia Family gang leader Demetrius "Big Meech" Flenory and Gangster Disciples' founder, Larry Hoover. While Game rarely hides his own affiliation with The Bloods street gang, he stated that he didn't want to lead his fans in the wrong direction. "All these people thinking they're gangsta. And after the Rick Ross song B.M.F. everybody thinking they're Big Meech again, Larry Hoover. Nobody really should wanna be that or aspire to be that 'cause you're gonna end up in a coffin," Game told Complex. "And trust me man, most of these rappers outside of me, 50 Cent and maybe Waka Flocka and a few others, have never felt bullets man, ain't never had a brush with actually having your life erased. So a lot of these rappers out here playing. That's just not the message I'm trying to send across no more."

R&B crooner The Dream, born Terius Nash, recently issued statement regarding recent allegations of infidelity about his failed relationship with Christina Milian.
"I would love to tell the truth as to why my relationship wasn't successful," The Dream stated in an emotional letter to his fans. "But today that is between me and Christina."
"Its easy to say that its because of another woman or a new relationship but truthfully, its not.”
On June 29th, the R&B singer released his third studio album titled Love King, which features the hit single, "Make Up Bag" featuring Atlanta rapper T.I.
In the song The Dream ironically sings about buying his girlfriend a "make up" bag to compensate for infidelity in a relationship gone wrong.
This only fueled the rumors that swirled when a recent picture of the songwriter/singer and his assistant surfaced on the net last week, featuring The Dream groping his young professional counterpart.
"I'm human and people fall in and out of love, this is life. Nothing's promised or perfect. Neither am I. I am not proud I lost something we once had...love."
On Twitter many fans expressed feelings of sadness, doubt, resentment.
Some even hoped that this could give him content and freedom to write a new album, despite the fact he has issued statements saying this would be his final album using the Dream persona.
"I've cried about this for months, after interviews, after prayer, and I've tried to take my own life because of the failure that was looming," The Dream stated.
The Dream's most recent album Love King sold nearly 59,000 copies its first week.

At a birthday celebration at Hollywood’s Millions Of Milkshakes rapper Lil Kim spoke to HollywoodTV about a number of topics including upcoming collaborations, RocNation, her new album, and more.
The rapper explained that while she is focused on releasing singles she won’t rush putting out her album.
“I am working on my album,” said Lil Kim. “I’m gonna be dropping some singles soon. I’m not concentrated on dropping an album so soon, but I will be dropping singles.”
Aside from preparing her album Lil Kim also revealed that she will be making a number of guest appearances including one on Keri Hilson’s new project and another on Dr. Dre’s much anticipated Detox.
“I’m doing a collaboration right now in the studio with Keri Hilson,” Lil Kim explained to HollywoodTV. “I’m so excited! This is for her album though. So you might be hearing that song really soon. Shout out to Polow. I love you Polow. ‘Cause he did the track, Polow Da Don. I’m gonna be working with a lot of great people on my album. Timbaland is someone I’m really close with. I’m on Dr. Dre’s Detox album. I’m really excited about that one.”
When asked if she’s officially with Roc Nation Lil Kim didn’t give much of an answer, explaining that she couldn’t really speak on the topic.

Dr. Dre asked Jay-Z to "come holler," and Jay delivered. The pair recorded the Detox song "Under Pressure" months ago, and an unfinished version leaked online Wednesday (June 16).
The song isn't mixed or mastered and has no chorus, but it offers more than an inkling of where the two legends are headed.
"The long-awaited Detox, bitch," Dre starts the song. "But maybe I don't wanna stop/ Maybe I don't wanna quit/ Maybe I like ho's/ Maybe I don't want a wife/ Maybe I'm psycho/ Maybe we need to breathe some life in this sh--/ Maybe we are the life of this sh--."
The chorus is conspicuously absent, then Hov comes in for the second verse.
"Dre, I think I need my sponsor," he says. "Trying to grow, but I just can't seem ta/ Having trouble cleaning up like FEMA/ All these little haters got me back with the nina/ Got me bringing guns to work, Gilbert Arenas."
In the track, Hov says he's addicted to the finer things, like drop-top coupes, watches and bowlegged girls from the projects. "I'm in this party/ I'm up to no good/ And I should be ducking these clubs, Tiger Woods."
"I smoke, I drink, I'm supposed to stop but I can't," Dre says to end the record. "N---as don't ask why/ I'm high ... I'm a weed head and I'mma treat every day like the weekend."
"Under Pressure" isn't the only Detox song to leak. An unfinished track featuring T.I. and Nas was bootlegged last year, as was a song with R. Kelly and 50 Cent that turned into Before I Self Destruct's "Could've Been You."
Outside of Detox, Dre has been working with Eminem, of course, and the Game on his new LP The R.E.D. Album.

Eminem dropped a viral video featuring the “Shamwow!” guy promoting the rapper’s upcoming album, Recovery.
The :30 second viral clip features Vince Shlomi promoting the album in the vein of the popular late night “Shamwow!” towel commercials.
“You’re going to be clappin when you hear Eminem rappin,” Shlomi said while hawking Eminem’s new album infomercial style.
Shlomi demonstrates the many uses of Eminem’s Recovery CD, by cutting it in half. The two halves of the CD is then used to chop onions, cheese, tacos, steak bone and even silicone.
The commercial also offers female fans the “sold out” “Shampon,” a phony tampon that “can hold up to ten-times its weight in liquid.”
Shlomi has a checkered past, like Eminem. In February of 2009, Shlomi was arrested in Miami Beach for felony battery.
He allegedly struck a 26-year-old prostitute when she bit his tongue and refused to let go. Prosecutors later declined to file charges against either party.
Eminem's Recovery release date has been moved up one day to June 21st, after the entire album leaked on the Internet almost two weeks before the original release date of June 22nd. - Godfathers

Drake show scheduled for Tuesday evening (June 15) in Manhattan was canceled by the New York Police Department after crowd control became a safety concern for organizers of the event.
Upward of 10, 000 fans lined the South Street Seaport and even more were present on the outskirts of the venue, lurking, in hopes of spotting the Toronto rapper.
Drake was set to appear onstage at 7:45 p.m. ET, but leading up to his appearance, the crowd swelled to a larger-than-expected size. Organizers of the event, sponsored by Paper magazine and also featuring Hanson and Ninjasonik, began slowly asking attendees to be prepared for a cancellation.
Confusion abounded just moments later, however, as concertgoers jockeyed for closer positions to the stage, unaware of any danger. Ultimately, police pulled the plug on the event and began trying to disperse bystanders.
Drake — celebrating the release of his debut album, Thank Me Later, on Tuesday — tried to notify his fans via Twitter that he was unable to take the stage. "Police are shutting down the show at South Seaport! I'm on my way anyways," he wrote. "Drizzy Hendrix Woodstock 2010."
The upstart MC, though, was understandably disappointed he was unable to share in the excitement with his fans and issued a statement apologizing to his supporters.
"I am humbled by the crowd that showed up in support of my performance and the release of Thank Me Later," Drake told MTV News in a statement. "I love performing for my fans, but unfortunately, the show was canceled by the NYPD due to overcrowding, leaving me without the chance to give my fans a real show. I'm thankful for the support that the fans have been giving me ... I thank you now."
Fans were also disappointed, but many feared for their own safety as people fought, threw items from nearby restaurants and even trampled other attendees.
New York University student Adam Vinson spoke with MTV News and described the chaotic scene. "People didn't know how to have manners," he said. "Everyone was up against each other pushing. There was just too many people there. In New York City, though, people are gonna come from out of state, and in the city, there's already millions of people. The concertgoers packed in and people started fighting.
"I saw dudes fighting," he added. "One dude said he was gonna light this place up; it was that serious. Once I saw that, it was my cue to leave. People started pushing, bottles were thrown and once dude threatened to shoot, people started trying to get out."

SAD News! Rapper Common and Tennis great Serena Williams have ended their two year relationship according to In Touch Magazine.
The weekly gossip magazine has cited a source close to the rapper who claims the pair “just grew apart.”
According to the New York Post, Common and Serena attended the premiere of the movie Date Night in April, but Serena was not with the rapper at the May 4th premiere of his new movie Just Wright.
Common or Serena have yet to issue a statement on the status of their relationship, but in articles printed last week, the rapper was talking about marriage.
"`It would be a great thing but I can't say that right now,'' Common said on Wendy Williams’ show last week. “I would love to be married and have children someday. So if Serena is that person, it would be a lovely thing.''
In related news, Common revealed that he planned on being one of the great actors and that acting was his new creative medium.
"My hip-hop background really can't catapult me to where I want to be as an actor," Common told The Philadelphia Inquirer last week. "I do acknowledge that hip-hop has built a foundation for me in the way that it allows me different experiences as a performer and taught me how to endure when you're dealing with difficult situations. But acting is a different medium. I know I have to go through the process of training and the things that it takes to become a great actor. And my goal is to become one of the greatest."
Common is working on a new album titled The Believer, which is due in stores this Fall.

Bun B is fighting through several injuries to continue the inter-continental Gumball 3000 rally despite falling off a stage at a route stop.
The surviving UGK member’s injuries happened at a club in Stockholm, Sweden. According to Bun, the accident happened due to the stage area becoming overcrowded with club patrons, causing him to be pushed off.
"We were all going on stage and it got kind of crowded,” Bun explained in a statement. “Someone fell onto me and I ended up falling off the stage and I split my knee open and sprained my ligaments in my right arm. The problem was the injury happened at 4.30AM and we had to get on the bus at 8AM to catch the plane to America. If I had gone to the hospital I would have missed the flight so someone gave me some Extra Strength Excedrin.”
Because of the prestige of the Gumball rally, Bun B still has not seen a doctor, fearful that he will be told to withdraw and nurse his ailments.
“This is the 4th day since the injury and I still haven’t gone to a doctor. I can’t afford to miss the Gumball,” he justified.
The Gumball 3000 rally covers 3000 miles with 120 cars over 8 days. The event is mixed with music, film, and art events along the routes through Europe and North America. The event draws many car enthusiasts and celebrities from around the world.
Along with Bun B, this year has seen the participation of Eve, Xzibit, Idris Elba, DJ Muggs, and Tony Hawk.
The Gumball 3000 began on May 1, with the remaining routes in Quebec, Toronto, and New York City’s Time Square.
Bun B third studio album, Trill OG, is due out this summer.

Rapper Rick Ross has responded to reports that he was robbed of a valuable chain earlier this week in California.
In an interview with SpliffTv, Rick Ross addressed the rumors, while announcing the release of a new mixtape/EP titled Albert Anastasia with DJ Smallz, which will drop prior to the release of his official album Teflon Don.
“I wasn’t in LA two days ago. I got a call saying I was in LA,” Ross stated. “Two fake Twitter gangsters said they robbed me for a chain. There’s too many real ni**as in LA I see yall, to even think about letting the fake Twitter thugs f**k the real ni**s up.”
Ross’ new mixtape Albert Anastasia is named after Albert “The Mad Hatter” Anastasia, a ruthless Italian Mafia leader who ruled New York’s Gambino family from 1951-1957.
Additionally Anastasia headed up the notorious Murder Inc. stable of mob killers before he himself was infamously murdered while getting a shave in barber’s chair.
Ross revealed that he could possibly be hitting the road to promote Teflon Don with Sean "Diddy" Combs, who is slated to release his upcoming album Last Train to Paris on June 22nd.
“We cooking up the big layout now for the albums. Last Train to Paris will be in stores soon, Teflon Don will be in stores too, so we are just cooking up the big layout. We are just going to do what we do and make sure fans know its in the streets.”
According to Ross, Albert Anastasia will be released over Memorial Day Weekend.
“Its most definitely a dope mixtape. It’s most definitely going to have all new music on there. I been releasing a few freestyles just preppin this shit. It’s definitely going to be a classic mixtape. Just to feed the real ni**as in the streets before I give them this Teflon Don.”

Lovin' this joint!
Vallejo, California rapper E-40 landed three separate brand new albums on Billboard’s rap chart this week, as his latest releases are sitting in the #5, #6 and #14 positions.
The rapper’s releases Revenue Retrievin Day & Night Shift and the release Heavy On The Grind have sold a total of 30,000 units independently since hitting stores on March 30th.
The albums were released on the label Heavy On The Grind, which is run by E-40’s son, Droop-E, who serves as President and executive producer of the projects.
According to E-40, the success of his independent releases is due to his relentless working on the Internet and other non-traditional avenues to market his products, which each contain different barcodes.
“I got out there, did my homework and went back to my roots and made these albums for the streets that made me,” E-40 said. “Then I utilized the internet and engaged in social networking by interacting with my fans and I found out what they wanted and what they liked best. Then I considered the state of this economy recognizing that people want the hook up, they want more and that’s exactly what I gave them. Most albums have 10 or 12 tracks on them, I exceeded that number then I doubled my product giving my fans who are also consumers a bigger bang for their buck.”
Each one of the Revenue Retrievin releases contain 19 new songs, while Heavy On The Grind is being sold digitally though iTunes with a whopping 42 tracks from E-40.
At FYE stores, the physical CD is packaged with a T-shirt and a 10 free ringtone bundle pack. Additionally E-40 dropped 5 videos that included features from Snoop Dogg, Too Short, Gucci Mane, Mistah F.A.B., San Quinn, Messy Marv, B-Legit, Jazze Pha and others.
“I would like to thank everyone that participated in making this project happen, the grit don’t quit” E-40 said.
Shyne is gearing up to release the first official single from his upcoming album via a new deal between his Gangland Records, and Island/Def Jam.
According to reports, Shyne will drop the single next Tuesday (April 13th), making it his first new single in almost 10 years.
In February, Shyne inked a seven-figure deal with Island/Def Jam and began recording his album in Belize, where IDJ CEO L.A. Reid hosted a press conference announcing the new business deal.
Shyne is barred from entering the United States and was not allowed to enter the United Kingdom in February, due to his criminal record.
Shyne, aka Moses Leviy, was released from prison in October of 2009, after serving over 9 years in prison for his role in a nightclub shootout in 1999, involving Bad Boy Records’ CEO Sean “Diddy” Combs and his then girlfriend Jennifer Lopez.
Shyne was supposed to be featured on DJ Khaled’s album Victory, but the track, named “All My Life,” featuring Akon and Mavado, was dropped for legal reasons.
According to reports, Shyne is collaborating with Scott Storch, who is said to be producing a large portion of the album.
He is also working with producer Coptic, who has confirmed that he created a track for Shyne titled “Hand on My 45.”

Check the flippy to find out why he was really back in jail.
Bryson Bryant was sent to the Gwinnett County Detention Center to adhere to a warrant stemming from his May 7th marijuana charge. A deputy who admitted Bryson into jail last night says he was simply turning himself in for an outstanding warrant and was released at 3AM.

Bone Thugs-N-Harmony group member Layzie Bone has refuted allegations that his brother Flesh-N-Bone struck their mother with a gun, causing a one inch gash on her head.
Flesh, born Stanley Howse, was arrested on Sunday (March 28) during Bone Thugs-N-Harmony’s highly anticipated reunion concert in their hometown of Cleveland, Ohio.
It was the first time he had been in the city in twelve years.
The celebration was short lived, as police arrested Flesh on ten-year-old warrants for domestic violence and felonious assault.
"That's a damn lie," Layzie told The Plain Dealer today (March 30) during an interview. "My brother never struck my mother. "I was right there. What happened was, some dudes walked up and were hating on us, and my mother got in the middle of it. She was trying to protect her children. And then they're gonna say my brother hit my mother -- c'mon, man. We aren't barbaric.”
Their mother, Pamela Howse, was actually at the show watching her sons perform. The drama caused her to have an anxiety attack and be hospitalized.
Layzie, 35, denied that his brother knew of the arrest warrants and denied having previous knowledge that the police were planning to arrest his 36-year-old brother.
He also questioned why they decided to do it during their reunion show at the House of Blues, one of the most anticipated dates on their 34-city outing.
“They did their job and obeyed the law, as well as we did. We knew them guys. We went to school with 'em. We went to school with the police, man,” Layzie told the Plain Dealer. “But why did they let us go onstage if we couldn't finish the show? That was disrespectful. To say Flesh was trying to run -- run where?"

Shaunie O’Neal was spotted in Maui, Hawaii recently boo’d up with her new man. Although, her divorce is not yet final to Shaquille O’Neal, she is wasting no time moving on to someone new.
So who is this guy? According to an email I received back in January, Shaunie is dating 22 year old model Marlon Yates. I spent most of my morning figuring out if this was the same guy (hard to tell with the facial hair) and after comparing pics that he recently tweeted (ironically wearing the same glasses), I think we have our guy. He was also one of the leads in Keri Hilson’s “Slow Dance” video and also a contestant on Janice Dickerson’s modeling show.
Anyway, back to the email: someone had a run in with Shaunie and Marlon in a restaurant around ProBowl (or was it Superbowl?). I guess he was about to turn over some tables once they recognized who he was and that he was getting cozy with Shaq’s soon-to-be ex-wife. He made such a huge scene that he was kicked out of the restaurant but the person did say that Shaunie apologized on her way out and she was really sweet.
Either way, although they painted him as somewhat of a a**hole, I will admit he is foooine! woop woop
So does this mean Shaunie O’Neal is getting her cougar on?
