It is being reported that The Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin is battling Pancreatic Cancer. Not much has been said from the Franklin camp or Franklin herself regarding this news.

Singer Aretha Franklin has not spoken much about the illness that has caused her to cancel all concert dates and undergo surgery recently, but, according to a CBS/AP breaking news report, the Queen of Soul is battling pancreatic cancer.

A source familiar with the situation told The Detroit News about Franklin's condition on Wednesday.

In addition, Detroit's Fox 2 news has reported that Franklin has cancer, attributing the information to a relative.

Despite these reports, Franklin and her publicist are keeping quiet, neither confirming nor denying that the songstress has the illness.

A recent AP report says that Franklin is recovering well from a recent surgery.

Reverend Jesse Jackson, who says he has visited Franklin four or five times recently, says her spirits "are high and her faith is strong."
